Papaya Community Events

  • These are monthly community nights where we bring together a panel of health professionals, to talk about one particular condition.

So many of us are trying to do the right things for our health - we eat well, we keep active, we follow advice online, but somehow it still feels like something’s missing.

Women’s health can be confusing, and most of the time we’re left piecing it together on our own.

These conversations are designed to cut through the noise, where you can ask the questions you’ve always wanted to, listen in on open discussion, and hear from a team who looks at the whole picture: your body, your hormones, your movement, your lifestyle.

  • These are 90 mins workshops, hosted inside Papaya Clinic once every 8 weeks. Delivered by Gabi Moran (Yoga Instructor) and Louie Rachel (Japanese Acupuncturist), to reset and calm our nervous system.

    Tickets through Humanitix.

  • Sarah and her team of Registered Midwives have worked extensively in all areas of hospital maternity services including birth suite, postnatal, special care nursery, antenatal education, infant massage & emotional wellbeing screening.

    Learn More

Papaya Clinic strives to bring accessible care to our community through hosting events with different professionals. Some are free events and some are paid workshops. These are times to meet us, speak to the team, and learn more about women’s health.

Papaya Conversations - The Postpartum Playbook

banner image showcasing the details of the papaya clinic postpartum playbook event and the 4 practitioners who will be speaking on the night: a women's health physio, clinical nutritionist, japanese acupuncturist, and doula IBCLC trainee

“Nobody told me it would be like this”

We've heard this from so many new mums. The sleeplessness, the physical recovery, the feeding struggles, the feeling of just getting through each day.

The fourth trimester is one of the most significant (and least talked about) transitions in a woman's life. And most women go through it with very little preparation and almost no coordinated support... but plenty of focus is given to the new baby.

This Papaya Conversations evening is for you if you're pregnant, newly postpartum, or planning another baby and want to enter matrescence with more knowledge, more support, and a team around you.

Event Details:

Wednesday 28 May 2026
6:30pm – 8:00pm
Papaya Clinic, Newtown
$15 per ticket · Limited to 30 seats

What we'll cover

  • What actually happens to your body in the first six weeks and beyond

  • Pelvic floor rehab, diastasis recti, and when (and how) to return to exercise

  • Nutrition for recovery, milk supply, and not running on empty

  • Acupuncture for sleep, mood, mastitis, and nervous system support

  • What a doula actually does, and why so many women wish they'd had one

  • Breastfeeding support: what works, what doesn't, and when to ask for help

Meet your panel of experts

Winnie Wu: Director and Women's Health Physio at Papaya Clinic. Expert in pelvic floor rehabilitation, diastasis recti, and postpartum physical recovery.

Kelly Suggate: Clinical Nutritionist at Papaya Clinic. Focuses on women's health nutrition across pregnancy and the postpartum period.

Louie Wisby: Acupuncturist at Papaya Clinic. Works with women through all stages of life, with a focus on hormonal health, recovery, and nervous system regulation.

Janine Armfield: Doula at Blossom Doula Care, Nurse, and training to become an IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant). She supports women through birth and the postpartum period with a deeply holistic, woman-centred approach.

Who is this for?

  • You're pregnant and want to actually prepare for what comes after birth, not just the nursery, but your body, your feeding plan, and your support team.

  • You're in the thick of early postpartum and feel like you're piecing it together as you go, wondering what's normal and who to call.

  • You're planning another baby and want to do the recovery period differently this time around, with more support and less guesswork.

  • You've had a baby and something still doesn't feel right and you want to understand what's available to you.

  • You want to understand the full picture, how nutrition, movement, acupuncture, and doula support work together, rather than seeing each practitioner in isolation.

Partners are welcome too.

This evening is especially valuable for partners who want to understand how to genuinely support recovery, not just "be helpful" but know what help actually looks like in those early weeks. Babies in arms are always welcome at Papaya events.

What to expect on the night

1. A small room, not a lecture theatre

Papaya Conversations are intentionally intimate, 30 seats maximum. This is not a webinar with the chat turned off.

2. Four practitioners, one conversation

Rather than four separate presentations, the evening is structured as a flowing panel discussion. You'll see how a nutritionist, acupuncturist, women's health physio, and doula think about the same woman, and why having all four on your team changes the outcome.

3. Real answers to real questions

A generous Q&A is built into the evening. There are no silly questions here. If you've been wondering something and haven't found the right person to ask, this is your chance.

4. Something to take home

You'll leave with practical knowledge, free resources, and a clear sense of who to call and when. We'll have our free Postpartum Ebook and Papaya Mama Planner available on the night.

Doors open at 6:00pm if you'd like to arrive early and settle in. The evening runs from 6:30pm to 8:00pm.

The Papaya approach

Papaya Conversations are intimate evenings — small rooms, real conversations, no slides and no sales pitch. You'll leave with practical knowledge and a genuine sense of who to turn to when you need support.

Seats are limited to 30 so everyone gets the chance to ask questions.

FAQ

Can I bring my partner? Yes, postpartum affects the whole household. Partners are welcome.

Can I bring my baby? Of course. Babies in arms are always welcome at Papaya events.

Is this only for first-time mums? Not at all. Whether you're pregnant for the first time or preparing for your second or third baby, there's something here for you.

What if I can't make it? Tickets are non-refundable but are transferable so you're welcome to send a friend in your place.

Papaya Conversations is a community event designed to cut through the noise. Think of it as a night where you can ask the questions you’ve always wanted to, listen in on open discussion, and hear from a team who actually looks at the whole picture: your body, your hormones, your movement, your lifestyle.
